You may have heard about things like Firesheep, which allows someone to hijack someone else's HTTP session and login as them on sites like Facebook. We commented on it over at the Populi blog.
According to Gawker, Facebook is now allowing the option of using the encrypted HTTPS protocol. They give instructions on finding the option (its buried in your settings). I just checked and didn't have it, but evidently they are rolling it out over a few weeks.
If you're in the habit of using Facebook on open networks, or you just want to be extra sure you don't get hacked, check it out.
