Update: We got into position behind a pine tree overlooking the edge of a field around 6:00 PM. At 6:45 PM a doe and a fawn stepped out and walked in to 20 yards, directly behind the tree from us. The kids got to watch them snort and stamp around (they could smell us and were agitated) for about 15 minutes. They never came passed the edge of the tree, which is the shot I was looking for with my bow, but it was awesome. Just awesome.
